Home again

The Foundation acted as the lead manager of the ‘Home Again’ project, receiving funding from Citibank Ukraine. The project partner was the Rotary Club Kyiv Capital.

According to the Chernihiv Military Administration, the Russian army has destroyed 1,200 houses in Chernihiv Oblast alone since the start of the full-scale invasion. Thousands have been damaged.

The idea of the project is to build on the very spot where people used to have a home. This is a chance for families to return to their land, grow their own food, work and live in their home village or town, and be the basis of its economic development. It was important to find fast, high-quality and comfortable solutions for a long life, which is why it was decided to build modular houses, which were equipped with terraces and autonomous heating for the additional comfort of their owners, so as not to depend on power outages.

Project results

In December 2023, the keys to modular houses were handed over to 10 affected families in 9 villages of 4 amalgamated territorial communities in Chernihiv Oblast: Ivanivska, Kyinska, Ichnianska and Novobilouska AHs.
