Home Again 2

The project ‘Home Again 2’ – is a continuation of the active cooperation between the Peli can live charity foundation and City Ukraine in 2024-2025.

This time, we plan to work together to provide housing for 11 families who were forced to leave the temporarily occupied Ukrainian cities and towns due to the hostilities. In particular, these are eight families from Mariupol district and one from Bakhmut district of Donetsk region, one family from Kherson region and one from Luhansk region (45 people in total). The families are to move into separate modular houses in the spring of 2025 in one of the communities in Kyiv Oblast, which has hospitably offered to help find suitable land plots (most of which will be 20-25 hectares). All our project participants have previously lived in rural areas and have experience in home gardening and horticulture.

Thanks to funding from City Ukraine, we will build and deliver houses that will belong directly to the families.

In 2023, we built houses on the plots of people who lost their homes as a result of Russian missile attacks on Chernihiv region (which had been completely liberated from the occupation forces). People had their own land, we could use the old communications that were connected to the plots, but now we need to create all the communications. The project participants have no money for this. Therefore, together with the Mariupol district administration and the host community, we are looking for ways to finance infrastructure facilities.

Currently, we need to find funding for the following facilities:

Block and pile foundation
Septic tank
Water supply (well)
Electricity connection
Landscaping and improvement

The average amount of support required per family is USD 10300 or GBP 8465.

That is why we are launching a fundraising campaign. And the first element of this fundraising campaign was a photo exhibition of our volunteer Lyuba Bobrova, hosted by the XYZ Gallery, which we are organising in partnership with the Rotary Club Kyiv Capital and the Rotary Academy of Ukrainian Culture and Art. Our fundraising partner in the UK is Guildford Chantries Rotary Club.

The donation amount is non-refundable (charity). Your consent to the receipt of funds by the Foundation to the project’s accounts is your consent to this. If we manage to raise more funds than we need for the infrastructure facilities of ‘Home Again 2’, the excess funds will be used to purchase houses and infrastructure facilities for new families. Project administration costs account for 12%.
