Citi Ukraine funds housing project for IDP families
Thanks to the financial support of JSC “Citibank” (Citi Ukraine), we continue to implement the “Home Again” project, now entering its third season.
Together with Citi Ukraine, we support families who have lost their homes and land (internally displaced persons – IDPs) due to the military aggression of the Russian Federation, aiming to provide them with safe and stable housing. Our goal is to create lasting conditions for the life and development of affected families. That is why, this year, a new form of assistance was introduced – the purchase of houses with private plots on the secondary real estate market in rural areas. This approach helps provide housing to IDP families more quickly while also supporting local communities by bringing life back to vacant homes.
On February 25, 2026, the first large IDP family received the keys to their new home in Kirovohrad Oblast. Before the war, the family lived a happy and hardworking life in Luhansk: Yevgenii cultivated the land, ran the farm and the oil mill, while Daryna ran a small grocery store that served as a community hub. Their children attended school, and the family actively planned for the future together. When the occupation began in March 2022, the family lost their home, and Yevhenii and Daryna lost their life’s work. They endured basement sheltering and forced evacuation, and now they are striving to start over, keeping hope alive for a peaceful future for their three teenage children.
The “Home Again” initiative began in 2023, when ten families from Chernihiv Oblast received comfortable modular homes on the sites of their yards destroyed by enemy shelling. This was the first step in restoring the lives of families affected by Russian aggression.
The project expanded in 2025: eleven families, forced to leave their homes in temporarily occupied territories, received modern modular houses in Boryspil Raion, Kyiv Oblast. The homes were equipped with all necessary furniture and appliances.
