Peli can live presented the Shelterbelts of Life project at the GEF Ukraine inception workshop

Yesterday, the inception workshop of the GEF Ukraine Forest Landscape Restoration Project, implemented by FAO, took place. The project aims to address the impacts of landscape degradation, strengthen climate resilience, and create conditions for the long-term development of forest and agroforestry systems.

As these issues are highly important to Peli can live, we were pleased to take part in the event.

The workshop also brought together representatives of government institutions, relevant public authorities, international partners, academia, the private sector, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders.

During the workshop, participants discussed key areas of the project, including policy and planning for forest landscape restoration, practical implementation of restoration solutions across different agroclimatic zones, nursery and greenhouse development, and green financing mechanisms to support the restoration of forests and agroforestry systems.

We were honoured to share our own experience, and Yana Bobrova presented recent developments and achievements of the Shelterbelts of Life project. She spoke about how we are establishing shelterbelts, how we work with local communities, and how we promote knowledge and capacity building in agroforestry and forest restoration.

We believe that the experience, resources, and expertise of the Peli can live Charity Foundation can contribute to the successful implementation of the GEF Ukraine Forest Landscape Restoration Project. We remain open to partnership and collaboration in advancing sustainable landscape restoration efforts across Ukraine.
